Description: View of town and the Montana Railroad bridge over the Missouri River at Lombard, Montana. Lombard was established in 1895 as the western terminus of the Montana Railroad and its interchange with Northern Pacific Railway. The town was named for A.G. Lombard, the chief engineer of the Montana Railroad. It is a ghost town today. It operated independently until 1908, when it was acquired by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad ("the Milwaukee Road"). Vintage 5.5x3.5 in. post card.
